But how do you show that transformation on the page?

✨🔥 Discover 7 POWERFUL STEPS to a Personal Statement that Knocks Down Doors! Malena Amusa, MA, creator of AYO's DREAM Elite Admissions & Essay Coaching, walks you through the College Essay Equation, using before-and-after essay examples and coaching insights to show how a personal experience becomes a powerful story of growth.

✨ The 7-Step College Essay Equation

01 | High-Stakes Introduction
Drop right into the action, at the moment your story takes a turn. Make it a movie! What crisis unfolds? Why does this moment matter to you?

02 | Background Deepens the Stakes
Reveal the deeper history behind the moment. Show readers who you are and exactly what you stand to gain or lose.

03 | Lowest Point → Breakthrough → Pivot
Take readers through your thought process, your lowest point, and the breaking point that leads to your breakthrough.

04 | Cognitive Shift
You can't show growth until you reveal what changed in your mind! Use reflection to show how your thought process has evolved.

05 | Test & Breakthrough
Put that cognitive shift to the test! Take readers to another point of failure. How is your new mindset challenged?

06 | Application of Growth
Learning is only as powerful as it is applied to the meaningful cracks and craters in our lives. Show how you're now walking through life with an elevated sense of being. Give us the details!

07 | Forward-Looking Conclusion
Don't zoom out into broad, philosophical statements. Zoom deeper into the soul of who you are, what you're called to do, and how you're called to show up.
